Calpe

Calpe has a point less in Valencian: Calp. The city is a municipality in the Spanish province of Alicante in the Valencia region with an area of 24 km². Calpe has about 27,000 inhabitants. The literal high point of Calpe is the 332 meters high rock El Penon de Ifach. This rock is a protected area with a small bird sanctuary. In clear weather the rock can be seen from miles away.

Calpe has an ideal climate. Therefore it attracks many tourists. There are numerous apartment buildings. At the beautiful promenade are shops, restaurants and disco bars. On the surrounding hills are mainly luxery villas. 

The old town is still intact and contains traces of Moorish domination. Near the center is the fishing port.
